Yes, Victor Airlines Flight 078 departs from my driveway about 3pm tomorrow for Rüdesheim. I'm piloting. Once we are underway my wife will be serving soft drinks. Flight time is about six hours in my 1.4 liter Turbo Diesel Skoda Fabia.

Rüdesheim is a dying show by now. The initiators have been less supportive year by year. Now they have really lost the most sympathy by cutting off the parking lot sale (for which they also collected payments, of course) and only now have the Sunday hall sale.

Dealers were not allowed to enter the hall earlier to set up their tables but had to share the same entrance time and the same (small) doors with everyone else. As a result, many dealers stopped to show up while others do not come by to sell.

I still hope that someone else will finally start a real competitive show nearby. But as long as these people show absolutely no interest in customer satisfaction, it is certainly not of my interest. Let's hope the best for the future.

Norman, I agree with most of what you say. The organizers are most unaccomodating and some of the bigger dealers have already stopped coming.

I did not know they stopped Saturday sales. Last April there were Saturday parking lot sales and even Friday. I don't know if they had to pay to set up there. I was only looking. If nothing on Saturday, I won't be in such a rush.

I have to admit I might be wrong with Sunday and now it's only Saturday. What I know for sure is that they did cut it officially down to just one day. Of course, some few dealers might be around the day earlier at the parking lot, as long as the town's public order office won't try to ticket them (which they did at least once in the past).

It is tomorrow, saturday, all day. Set your gps to Rüdesheim am Rhein as you don't want to land up at the other Rüdesheim where there is no Rhine, and no music flea market.

I just got the update: The public order office was called to insure that there was no parking lot sale. I guess the initiators will be even more loved by now.

You are right. We did not arrive in time to see it but I guess there was an attempt to gather in the morning which was dispersed.
