Extremely rare. Both sides are in excellent condition. See and hear Josie Miles side posted on my YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TE8zgnfPQQ PM with interest. Thanks.

FYI... that's not a "rare" record, it's one of those red star reject records that Tom didn't think would sell...
Too bad he had to micromanage the music catalog or there may have been some spectacular recordings on the Edison label...

Sorry, Curt, but I'd have to agree with Doug on the rarity of this one. I've been rummaging through piles of Diamond Discs for a long time, and this is literally the only copy I've ever seen anywhere.Curt A wrote:FYI... that's not a "rare" record

Stay tuned for the June issue of The Antique Phonograph for some very interesting insight into this oft-stated claim.Too bad he had to micromanage the music catalog or there may have been some spectacular recordings on the Edison label...

Re: FOR SALE: Edison Diamond Disc Record - $750
Edison didn't think that many blacks owned Diamond Disc machines, so he figured blues records marketed to blacks would sell poorly. Rosa Henderson and Josie Miles were of a very small handful of 'vaudeville' blues singers to record for the Edison.Curt A wrote:FYI... that's not a "rare" record, it's one of those red star reject records that Tom didn't think would sell...![]()

Amazing record. Please post the Undertaker's Blues to You tube as well.

This is a pretty rare record. I would love to have any of these Edison "race" records and I do have at least one. Rosa Henderson's Don't Advertise Your Man is another one I'd like to have!
