ratchet and pawl. Help!
I got an amberola 30 and im having trouble getting the pawl to fall into the gear on its own. i even added a weight to it hoping that it would help, but most of the time it doent fall into the gear properly. Anyone know how I could get it to work better? shpuld i just add more weight? should i sand the hole on the pawl?

Re: ratchet and pawl. Help!
There should be a coil spring wrapped around the shaft. The long end of the spring inserts into the hole in the pawl. The spring is hidden, as it slips inside the casting, -- I pulled this one out to take the photos.
Hope this helps.

Thank you! i hope the spring isn't broken . if it is, i think i can bend a part back. i knew i was missing something, i couldn't imagine they would rely on something so untrustworthy. makes so much more sense. appreciate it!outune wrote:There should be a coil spring wrapped around the shaft.
