I remember someone posting something like this 1-2 year ago on the old forum, doesn't appeal to me but still pretty cute...

I wish it was in my part of the world, although I'd imagine there's a pretty high reserve on it.
It would go well with a couple music boxes I've got.

Hey Phonophan,
I think you are referring to these pics I posted on the old site:

Guido in the Netherlands was selling this.

A Schwartzwalder Phono to play while you serve Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte ...or Black Forest cake.
I wonder what what other Black Forest goodies are lurking in the woods.

I'm curious about the tonearm fitted to the one for sale on eBay. The style -- exponential swan-neck -- would indicate that it's post-1925/26. Also, I noticed it seems to have more of a chrome plate appearance than the other components--brake, turntable, etc. Could it be a replacement?

I was wondering about that myself.
The rest of the running gear is Paillard, but the tonearm looks more like a Thorens or even Electrola arm.

More interesting to me is that the two cases are similar, yet very different. How many styles of these were made?
Why do we need signatures when we are on a first avatar basis?

Germanic Kitsch - can you top it? Would be wonderful in a room full of cuckoo clocks.
If anyone buys this I have a fine record for it- a Vic scroll label, selections from "The Girl from the Black Forest" complete with trilling soprano.
