I got the post 1907 Edison signature decal, and it's for the amberola. I have the Microset and Microsol. Anyone have any tips for applying the decal? I have a few questions.
1. Should I cut it in 3 peices, or just 1?
2. How should I go about taking the decal off the paper?
3. It Microset like a glue? Do I put the decal on the Microset?
4. Do I clean off the Microset that isn't covered by the decal?
Sorry for so many questions, but I'm somewhat nervous of messing it up. My budget is tight and I don't want to rip it. Thanks in advance.
Martin

Hi Martin.
I couldn't say it more clearly than Mr. Cline. Here's a link to his instructions:

Above all, having a nice, soft, flat artist's brush (mine's sable) and plenty of patience is a must in the process.
The one thing I will add is that you should trim it into one piece. Try not to leave any sharp corners. I'd leave a border of about ⅛" out from the graphic.
Good luck.

Re: Need help/advice for Edison decal
Oops. Here's another 1 cent that I'm adding to my 2 cents:
Don't apply the decal until you smooth out that gouge that encroaches on the decal area. If you don't, you'll end up with a lump at best or an air pocket at worst. You may want to do a combination of something like 800 grit wet/dry auto body sandpaper with a follow up of white auto body polish. After it's smooth and polished to a semi gloss, you'll want to let it dry out a day or so before applying the decal. If you were already going to do that, accept my apologies. Once again, good luck.
