Freddy,
You've been told over & over that your paramount machine is not what you insist it is. Even if it is a Garrard no.1 motor, this is not an American Paramount machine. It is an English made machine from the mid to late 1920's.
There were numerous "Paramount" companies over the years.
Here are 3 different "Australian" Paramount labels, and I'm sure England had their fair share of Paramount companies as well.
All COMPLETELY UNRELATED to the USA Paramount company.

Out of curiosity, whom is this "Freddyboy" supposed to be? The voice doesn't sound like anyone I've met in the phono field. I did like that Black Swan Ethel Waters disc he depicted in his vid!!

Actually, he indicated that Freddyboy was some collective project between 5 members of this board, if I remember correctly, and even published an IP for Freddyboy, from the same internet service provider that Freddyboy continues to use (a residential cable connection).

So if any of the alleged people were actually pretending to be Freddyboy, they were doing a good job to be posting from somewhere else.

Freddyboy: I think that you might get better results in people taking you seriously if you used YouTube instead of stupidvideos.com. Like gramophoneshane posted above, there were quite a few Paramount companies, which were utterly unrelated, and I think that a lot of what you discussed elsewhere (while encouraged by certain people) did not have any basis in reality.

I attempted to watch your video (which, when it merged your techno background and the record you were playing, finally convinced me to give up on it). It’s really hard to tell what you are talking about with regards to the sounds of the machine with background soundtrack audio, and if you actually want input, you might consider re-encoding the video without the background music.

I do not think that your brake operates too quickly—check this video out for a comparison:

I would suggest you watch from at least 3:10 until the machine stops—since the brake is very clearly shown at that angle, you can see it trip and how quickly the turntable comes to a complete stop.

I realize that this is a Victor Granada (4-4), and not the machine that you have, but you still might be able to reference how the brake works on a Victor machine to judge whether your brake is working properly.
