WANTED: Fiber gear for Grafonola
Really not into internal horn Grafonolas, but this one was sitting on a table at a local auction looking forlorn and forgotten, deserted and depressed, even miserable and maligned. So I raised my hand and bought it. The fiber gear is shot. This poor sinner is beyond redemption. Please see photos. Probably Ron Sitko and other dealers have this part, however I would like to turn to the collector fraternity (sorority too) first. A good used one is more than acceptable.

That fiber gear is just pressed on the shaft. Press it on a little farther, till the good portion of the gear engages the governor shaft. It looks as if there should be just enough gear left to work fine. (You may need to clear away some burrs left by the stripped portion.)

Jerry Van: that's a good idea. Doing so would be a good test for whether everything else is OK. Well, does have a least one busted mainspring. Thanks. worth a try.
