Bent horn elbow
Anyone tried straightening a bent elbow. I have three that I can only assume collapsed under the weight of the horn. All three bent the same. I was thinking about heating one and see if i can straighten it out

Re: Bent horn elbow
Don't heat it up. Take it to a brass instrument repairman.
I had bought an Edison Fireside elbow from shopgoodwill.com and it had apparently been in a house fire. A good brass instrument man was able to pound out enough dents where, with a coat of paint, it should look and sound very good on my machine--though it will need some new lacquer paint as the fire scorched off the good finish.

Try John Duffy. He straightens horns. He goes by Ripduf1.
