I was checking out an Edison Diamond disc machine on Craigslist and asked the seller what condition it was in. I was surprise when she answered that it was in great condition considering it was 94 years old!!It made me stop and think that in less than six years from now many of the Diamond Disc machines will be 100 years old. Where did the time all go!!I remember when I first got interested in Phonographs in 1970 that many of the "Antique" dealers didn't even consider Edison cylinder machines true "Antiques"as they were not the prescribed "100 Years OLD".It is amazing that you can still buy some pretty nice Diamond Disc machine for less than $400.00 and they usually come with a bunch of records. I picked up an Oak S-19 a few months ago for $200.00 with 30 records, original manual, shipping document and spare head for 78's. I think that these machines are the best buy out there!!!

Re: Diamond disc Centenary approaching.
I agree with you Pete. Diamond disc machines and records seem pretty inexpensive given their quality and technical sophistication for an almost 100 year old form of sound reproduction.
