Dark Brown Victor stain for the Orthophonic

Post by maginter »

Hi All -

I wanted to ask, what are you using for the Dark Brown Victor stain for the Orthophonic? I used to buy some from APSCO, but the no longer sell it. I have used aniline dyes, but I can’t get them to the darkness needed. So if you have a source for the Van Dyke Brown (Dark Brown) in the a stain and tinted lacquer, and are willing to share your source, I would appreciate it.

TIA,

Mark

I have always found that repeated applications of dye stain can get as dark as I've ever needed it to be.
