Cylinder box mismatch
I've frequently gotten Blue Amberols in gold-moulded boxes, but I've never gotten a 2-minute cylinder in a Blue Amberol box. Just an observation....

Re: Cylinder box mismatch
Interesting observation,
Allow me to embellish it a bit:
I see that most 2 minute boxes outlive 2 minute wax cylinders and blue amberol cylinders outlive most BA boxes.
Edison probably realized he had a unending source of free 2 minute boxes out there to replace the BA toilet paper roll boxes he foisted on the cylinder buying public.

Why do we need signatures when we are on a first avatar basis?

Re: Cylinder box mismatch
A BA box is pretty poor quality and offers little protection to the fragile was 2 min cylinder. Sliding a wax record even infrequently in and out of a BA box could easily damage it imho.
Rarely have I found a nice wax record in a BA box but I've found plenty of nice BA records in those cushy gold molded boxes.
