LOL. I literally just got a VG condition 78 of this in an album of 10 records for $10. Not for sale, unfortunately, but it is possible to find.

I'm wondering if anyone has a recording with the original introduction, as first performed on her Armistice Day program in 1938:

Note the line "let us all be grateful that we're far from there," was later changed to "let us all be grateful for a land so fair."

I read the article in the New York Times and except for the title saying "Kate Smith sang racist songs", I didn't read anywhere in the article that the reporter or the news paper concluded that Kate Smith was a racist. They said there was a controversy and that the NAACP was upset with her, but it was just an article reporting on the controversy without making a statement for or against. And the reporter even gave the mayor the last say in supporting Kate Smith and even putting up the statue of her there.

Why do we even need to bring this controversy into someone else's "wanted" ad?
