Hmmm, I'm not sure I believe them, unless the crank is just floating around in the drawer 
In England & Australia, there were many machines that "resembled" sideboards, but I've never seen a gramophone like this, with a mirrored back & all. It just looks like a typical English sideboard from the 1915-25 period in the tudor style that was popular at the time.
If it does contain a gramophone, my guess is that it's been added at a later date.

I think it might be the real thing. One showed up in a load of furniture from the UK at the auction I attend locally. It was neat but I just didn't have the room. There's also one pictured in the pink Fabrizio and Paul book and it is called Very Rare. For that price it is definitely worth a look.

Yeah, the lack of room factor is a problem for me too. This thing would take
up a ton of real estate. I need to get a copy of that Fabrizio book I think.
