O/T—Suggestions/Board Improvements

Post by MordEth »

Hello everyone. You may now go to your board preferences and set your language to ‘English (United States)’ instead of ‘British English’.

We can also add other languages (for our friends who speak English as a second language, especially), so...if I were to add additional languages from this list, what languages would you like to see added?

Thanks in advance for your input,

Obviously one should send them demands for it immediately! ;)

Sorry about the hiccups there; I am still trying to add features, so anywhere that things break are probably my fault. My apologies.

Zeppy,

Ooh, that sounds nice, a nice hot cup of Esperanto with a couple of teaspoons of sugar would hit the spot about now. ;)

Fredricius, the Latin of the moment is Semper Paratus! Is this a prelude to a photo of you in full Roman Centurion garb? I hope you have good legs!!!! ;)

Regards,
John

I and two schoolmates did actually dress up in full roman garb in Latin class once. We did a vivid presentation of the Punic wars, but alas - no photos.

There are however other photos of me featuring quite a lot of legs, but I'm afraid I'd scare people away if I'd post them here...

However, for those who dare: here's a public link to a Facebook gallery featuring a cross-section of the various roles I've played in student farces ("spex" in Swedish) during the years:

Brad sent me this suggestion, and I wanted to make sure I make a note of it:
Brad wrote:One thing I like about the board app is that when reading a thread in the bar right above the top most post on the right side there are hyperlinks for the previous and next topics. This is a nice feature that Proboards did not have. [...] It would be nice for a lazy old guy like me to have the next and previous links repeated right below the last post on the page.
I think this is a very good suggestion, and is one I fully intend to include.

Lazy old guy again.... :D

I just posted to another thread and attached two images http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... p=425#p425

I attached them in order that I wanted them to appear, however, they displayed in the reverse order.

-Is this controlable or something that we need to be aware of when attaching images?

I like that fact that images are stored with the posts. Probards required outside hosting and over time images disappeared as the original posters changed there accounts.

-The attachements appear at the end of the post. Is it possible to embedd the attached images in the post?

I rendered the images to smaller sizes to fit on the page as we had to do back at proboards and discovered that this app renders for us and allows you to click and see the full size image.

-When posting images, should we post the original full size image which allows us to see more detail?

-Will you be limiting the image sizes to conserve disc (pun intended) space?

(I know, I know, I ask a lot of questions for someone from New Jersey)
Why do we need signatures when we are on a first avatar basis?
