Sapphire Styli to Play DD's on Lateral Machines

I've spent months working on fine-grinding sapphires under magnification and am now getting some good results.

I also have an Ultona reproducer with a broken diamond I'd love to try one of these on but am not yet sure how to remove the remains of the existing diamond. If anyone has a suggestion, your input is welcome.
