Edison Home Polyphone Carriage

Post by Dave D »

Can anyone tell me anything about this? A couple of people have been asking me about it and I finally dug it out. To be honest I am not sure I am in a hurry to sell it.

Years ago I put a belt on an Edison Home model B for a local guy who worked on clocks. I did not charge him and when he passed away his wife found my card with the machine and offered it to me for a good price. As I was loading it up, she said, "Don't forget the records!" This was in the bottom of the box of records. A nice surprise indeed.

It's a Polyphone attachment for an early Edison Home phonograph.
It used two reproducers which worked in tandem to give sort of an echo effect and fuller sound.

P.S.
There's a pair of Polyphone Reproducers for sale in the Yankee Trader that would work with this:
