Would these parts fit my vic I?
Would a back bracket and tapered tonearm that's meant for a Vic III, IV, V, M and MS also fit a late Vic I type D?

No, the Victor 1 has a smaller diameter tone arm and shorter length, same as the Victor E. If you have the "Improved Victor I" which has a larger case style, you might get away with a tone arm and back bracket from a Victor II.
Good luck hunting.

The later Victor I used the same back bracket, tone arm, elbow, and goose neck as a Victor II. The late Victor I used a larger case and a 10" turntable. The earlier small case Victor I used the smaller bracket, arm, and the smaller elbow. Also, the earlier Victor I used an 8" turntable.

Ah I see, so I should basically be looking out for Victor II parts instead of those listed as Vic I parts?Phonofreak wrote:The later Victor I used the same back bracket, tone arm, elbow, and goose neck as a Victor II. It would help to see a photo of your incomplete Victor 1. As previously said, the small case (earlier) Victor 1 shares parts with the rear mount Victor E but that's about it. I know Ron Sitko makes a high quality Victor 1 elbow and possibly the back bracket with clip & screw. The tough part to find in the correct tone arm.

If your machine requires a 10" turntable you need the back bracket and tone arm from a typical Victor II. Jerry

Re: Would these parts fit my vic I?
You have a late Victor I from around 1913-15. A Victor II bracket, tone arm, elbow, screw and clip will be right for this machine. Also, a 10" stamped steel turntable will be correct. Check the spindle on the motor. If the cross pin is lower, the turntable with the large nub will be correct. If the cross pin is high, the turntable with the short nub will be correct. Check the bottom of your Victor I for the paper label. That shows the approximate date the machine was shipped out. Good luck with your restoration.
