Just got this early Victor 3 spring motor in the mail, paid over $175 for it. The seller threw it into a box with some miscellaneous packing stuff and shipped it. When I got it, multiple parts of the motor had poked several holes through the box and the drive gear was horribly bent. also, the auction photos showed the governor to be intact, but now all the governor springs are broken and horribly bent.
Just a fair warning to lower your expectations when buying from SLAWSA.

Looked like you paid $47.70 for Priority Mail Shipping,,, they automatically insure for $50.00... not sure it would qualify with that mess though..
Thanks US Postal service...

The initial inspection by the post office wasn't very encouraging. They said the damage was due to inadequate packing and their insurance doesn't cover damage caused by inadequate packaging.fmblizz wrote:Looked like you paid $47.70 for Priority Mail Shipping,,, they automatically insure for $50.00... not sure it would qualify with that mess though..

Can you post the auction link? I hope this seller makes good. If not, I would leave negative feedback.

I asked the seller to refund $75 so I can fix the broken stuff or refund the entire amount plus return shipping and I'll mail the motor back. Haven't heard from them yet...

File your insurance claim online and attach the photos. Claim the $50 and the $47 for postage And also let the seller refund whatever you think is fair. If the seller gives you a hard time, open a case with ebay and/or paypal. Good luck!

This is easy if you bought it on Ebay. You just tell the seller that it arrived damaged and you want a full refund. There is a reason that you click on to inform Ebay and seller that you want a refund. If the seller doesn't respond or says no, Ebay steps in and creates a return postage stamp and refunds your money in total.

Yes, open a case with ebay. That way should the seller
not decide to make good, ebay will step in and refund
the total purchase price.
An open ebay case can be closed at any time by
the person who opened it, if in the meantime, the seller
works things out with the person who had opened the case.
I know this because of a recent incident I had a few
months back with a Chinese seller of salvaged electronic
parts. At first none of my emails to the seller were
responded to. So I opened a case with ebay. Within
a day after the case had been opened, the seller was
begging me to close the case. I told the seller to
refund the price of the one defective item in the batch
of (10) items I'd ordered. He did so promptly, and I then closed the case. I seriously doubt that this
seller would have ever responded had that case not been
filed.
If you do all the steps correctly, you will get all
of your money back.

I guarantee you'll hear from the seller awfully quick once you file a case with eBay. Sellers like this are solely concerned with money, and if their sales proceeds are in jeopardy they will liven up.CDBPDX wrote:https://www.ebay.com/itm/254359710221Phonofreak wrote:Can you post the auction link? Yes, you will hear from the seller... Their rating is only 44, so a negative would really smart.
