More from my collection: Photo

Post by Edisonfan »

Here is another photo, from my collection.

The four DD's in the back, are the only one's, that still have paper sleeves. The four Gold Moulded cylinders, are unplayable, but are there as an example. Same for the Columbia. The four Amberols, and the Blue Amberol, are just examples. I just do not have a machine to play them on. The plaster "Nipper", was my first "Nipper" collectable. The twin "Nippers", are a salt and pepper shaker. Though, they are not old. The three tins to the left, in the foreground, are tungstone needles, Only the open tin, has the orginal tungstone needles. The packet on the right is my first paper packet of steel needles.

Your Welcome John, and thank you for a reply. I have this same photo, on the Online Edison board, but not one single reply?

Paul,

Hopefully we’ll get some more cylinder discussion going—I’ve enjoyed your photos so far, and I have quite a few photos that I need to post from the MOCAPS meeting on Sunday, which I had the pleasure of attending—Bill & Wendy graciously hosted this and I had a great time.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to settle for Columbia cylinders—the meeting focused on Columbia products. ;)

Paul,

I did see this photo on the Edison board and was going to comment but some how got distracted. I was going to suggest then, and will now, that it would be great if when you posted you wrote a little narrative around what you have there and the significance of it to you. It's not always apparent from teh pictures. I for one would be interested and I think others would too. Just a suggestion. Take it for what it's worth, cheers, bruce

Just a suggestion, Paul. Why don't you try Photobucket as a server instead of Imageshack? It loads more quickly and can put the full sized image inline in your post (using the direct view URL). I personally always hate to view images via Imageshack (nothing personal!), and half the time they don't load properly...

The good thing about this forum though, is you don't have to host your pictures anywhere. You can post them directly on the board using the file box below the main message box. You just browse your computer for the image, add it & hit submit! Then when you click on the picture, a full sized image will come up.
I tried it today for the first time in stachowiak's thread & posted some spring removal pages from the Edison service manual & it works perfectly. And no need to upload them at a hosting site.
Okay, Shane, I'll try that (thanks for alerting me)...

Also if you upload onto the forum I can look at them at work. I can't look at imageshack from work. (not that I would try) :monkey:
