:cry: Yich!! One can only hope that the actual surface of the cabinet is still usable so that the finish can be restored. Notice how they couldn't be bothered with removing the escutcheon, and just worked around it. Sheesh!

Last time I was in Home Depot I had to show ID when I bought spray paint and I suspect it was an effort to stop graffiti. After seeing this Victrola and others over the years, you should have to sign to buy sandpaper. Of the dozens and dozens of machines that I've refinished, I seldom touch sandpaper. When I have used it, it's for a special purpose not related to removing the old finish. Jerry Blais

This phonograph is in my area, and they had been previously asking a much higher price for it. I keep seeing it whenever I search craigslist.
