My hat off to you. You are far more ambitious than I would be, although I have to admit, not having to deal with veneer does make life far simpler. It should make for some dramatic before and after pitures!

Thanks for sharing the before pictures—like a number of other people who have already responded, I’d be curious to see the ‘after’ photos, and now I can finally say that I have seen a HomoPhone, after having cut out some of their print advertising for another thread.

Hopefully you’re right—the wood looks like it could use a great deal of work to recover a finish, based on the ‘before’ photos.

You might have to wait awhile before you can say you've seen a "real" Homophone David.
This one is a rip-off of the Homophone name, and had nothing to do with the real Homophone company- much like our Australian "Victor Talking Machines" that were made by Palings Music stores out here.

Ah. Thanks for the education, then—I didn’t realize that they had knockoff Australian ‘Victor Talking Machines’ for that matter. I suppose it is not surprising—trying to profit off of someone else’s (successful) brand is nothing new.

I'm always jealous of people like you who have a knack for being able to convert essentially a junkpile back into it's original from. Hat's off to you. I'm also waiting to see the before and after pictures "Side by Side", (as the song goes) so get working!

I just wish you were about 9000 miles or so closer. Id try to talk you into helping me with some projects!
