Columbia 5" Cylinder Discography
Greetings. I am looking for a discography of Columbia 5" cylinders. I recently acquired one of Dan W. Quinn performing "McGinty at the Living Pictures" but I know not what the number is. Plus it would be nice to have the reference.

Re: Columbia 5" Cylinder Discography
The Columbia catalog number for McGinty at the Living Pictures by Dan W. Quinn was #5002. Unlike the first Edison "Concert" cylinders in the "B" series, Columbia did not reserve a numbering block specifically for its "Grand" cylinders. The catalogs advised to order records by number and include a "G" if a Grand Record was desired.
The only reference I know for Columbia cylinders is the old Two-Minute Brown Wax and XP Cylinder Records of the Columbia Phonograph Company, Numerical Catalogue, August, 1896 - ca. March 1909, by Kenneth M. Lorenz. This was published in 1981 by Kastlemusic, Inc., 901 Washington Street, Wilmington, Delaware, 19801.

You're very welcome George. I wouldn't have remembered except for the fact that I saved a copy myself not very long ago.phonogfp wrote:I didn't know it was online - - thanks, Fran!
