FOR SALE: Victor VV-130 Japanese Lacquer - SOLD

Post by vintagetenor »

Victor VV-130, Japanese lacquer cabinet. Serial number 5446. Excellent, unrestored original condition and complete, including casters. I can see no chips or other damage to the cabinet. Gold plated hardware, bowed front and side panels. 4-spring motor runs, reproducer seems very good.
Embossed Japanese scenes, some of which are ornamented with mother-of-pearl inlays. The plate is not in as poor condition as the photo shows - my photo is just poor. Local pickup (Altoona, PA area) only. Email: [email protected]

Although we never met in person, this fellow and I have bought and sold and swapped lies on eBay and privately many times since the early days of eBay when most auctions didn't even have pictures! While he's not really a "phonograph" guy (more of a record geek like me!) he's a straight shooter and I'll vouch for him... for what that is or isn't worth.

Good to see you here, VT! :D Good luck with the sale. This looks like a nice example.

Wonderful machine and a terrific value. I asked DeeDee last night is she was up for a road trip. This machine is a good example of the high quality of work done by businesses that decorated machines post factory. Congratulations on a purchase that would be a centerpiece of most any collection.
