Bought those parts I mentioned before, got them for $10 (yep again!). The motor works
and the reproducer is in pretty good shape. The turntable fits on the spindle but
its flush and there is nothing protruding to hold the record on. Does anyone know if this model had some kind of stud built into the felt to keep the records on or something?

Looks as if someone cut the turntable spindle short. These turntables were usually held on by a spring clip that slid into a groove in the spindle, if it rusted in place perhaps someone tried to cut it off, or broke it off.
