Very cool machine. How did you come across it? (some of us like lots of pictures and a good story too)

The only negative that I see is that it looks like the traveling arm is too short, (or something is causing the needle to track well short of the intended path). The wooden arm should be easy enough to reproduce, (I think that someone already did). Despite the tracking issue, it looks like you found a very desirable little machine. The image that I attached is not a machine that I own. It is just for comparison.

:coffee: Here are some additional pictures.

After swapping the traveling arm with my Trademark you are correct. It appears the hinge pin on the front support is too far back. The length of the arm is correct with my Ratchet Wind and my Trademark. This makes me believe the tone arm could be a reproduction and they didn't have to correct measurement for the pin location. Good thing I only paid $2,500 for it.

I have included a few photos of my other machines. The Columbia C with the Bettini attachment was missing the spider, diaphragm. I have included a picture of the parts I had made to complete this project. Now all I need is an original horn.

Cheers

Wow, nice collection of early machines. Your $2500.00 Australian is a little more than $1700.00 USD right now, so that would have been a great deal here too, (even at $2500.00 US it would have been a great deal). Thanks for sharing. I'm surprised that there haven't been more comments. We have a Featured Phonograph section in the Archives directory. It looks like you have some very interesting machines that many of us would like to see and learn about in greater detail.

Good luck down under with those fires. Stay safe and pray for rain.

Thanks mate for the wishes. Been pretty tough the last few weeks here in Australia. I am on the West Coast so we have been spared so far.

I have another 70 + phonographs / record cabinets in my big shed. Along with 4000 + cylinders and 30,000 + 78's and Diamond Disc's. Plus untold amounts of other related items including a most of the aftermarket cylinder reproducers. The only one I am missing is the Horsley that I am aware of. I even have a Fletcher in Gold with the 4 hole baffle plate which is a tough fined.

Talk soon.

Cheers
