Like an idiot who needs another project I picked this beat up old portable today at an auction for $3. The vinyl is shot, case has come apart and it has two mud wasp nests in it but it still plays great. I'm thinking since I have all the wood I will just glue it back together, replace the top section and stain and shellac it and give it to someone who will appreciate it. Whadda ya think?

Check out this thread. It features many of the later machines that were outsourced. Your machine might be in there somewhere.

Thank you! It appears to be a model 0-2 made by Conley Camera Company 1940-42.

It would made a good first machine for any young new collector. These machines play well any lateral 78, from acoustics of 1910 to the later post-war Tops or Mercurys....
