SOLD: VARIOUS RECORDS and Edison Needle Types

    1. SOLD Fiddlin John Carson & Moonshine Kate

    Grade: EX+ - NM- (I have never seen a cleaner copy, almost no signs of play)

    2. SOLD Elder Lightfoot Solomon Michaux

    Victor 24607

    A: Happy Am I

    B: No Female Angels In Heaven

    Grade: EX-

    Asking $200


    3. SOLD Roth String Quartet

    Haydn Quartet in C Major Op. 33 No. 3

    Edison Needle Type 47006 and 47007

    These are the last two discs in the very short lived 12" classical 47000 series of the needle type Edison disc.

    Grade: EX+ to NM- (almost look unplayed)

    That 12" Needle Type set is a real rarity- I have the only other copy I have ever seen. Yours are super clean, too. Good luck with the sale! :D

    I would love to have the needle cut records, but alas it is out of my budget. :cry:

    I have the Roths in the same work on diamond discs 80903 and 80904 (electric recordings). Were those cut from the same performance with a split feed from the microphone? Or was the lateral issue a different performance?

    It would be nice if "the offer" price was left in FORS SALE threads. The actual sale price may be private the asking price was public knowledge.

    A collector friend in the UK who makes regular buying trips to the USA has the needle cut Haydn Quartet, a great rarity over here.
    He told me that the lateral cut masters were recorded alongside the Diamond Discs, so presumably they were recordings of the same performance.
