Correct early Suitcase home parts?

Post by kirtley2012 »

I've just bought an early suitcase home, exactly how early I'll know soon, possibly a brass mandrel judging by the tarnishing but can't tell currently, the serial number might be 10115 but I haven't seen it yet to confirm, it could be much earlier, with a good deal of tarnishing and needing a good deal of work, but the more immediate problems are the broken carriage and potentially missing winding handle.

The lid is seemingly missing, the carriage has broken at the top of the hole, the half nut and arm has also broken off so an entirely new carriage will be needed unless the parts are there and it can be brazed together, I think that may be unlikely, the reproducer is also missing unless it wasn't shown, the feed screw may be salvageable or possibly too rusted, I'll know more when I see it, I understand there were variances in the parts with the carriage, with the amount of screws holding down the carriage clips, what kind of parts would this home require?

The reproducer I'm not too concerned about, I'm not too keen on paying out for a Standard speaker which I believe it would have originally had, I'll likely end up using a model B, unless an automatic comes up at an affordable price.

I'm collecting the machine tomorrow, with a long train journey ahead of me, but it could be a very exciting one
