Mahogany L-Door, Kingsport, TN FBM

Post by mattrx »

Not mine. Looks like a worthy project for anyone wanting an L-Door and within driving range.

$250, including all of those records, is a steal...

The Lyon & Healy decal add to the appeal. Is it a C or a D?

Here is a pic of the ID tag. D

I inquired if it worked when cranked and what the record area looked like. I got a photo of the tag, the round speed control and the tab brake. Its just a little too far for me to drive (7.5 hrs one way) and I already have an L-Door. Very tempting, but just too far.

Wait, tab brakes on an L-door? Cool, that must be a later model.

I found a "Phonograph Machine" recently on Craigslist--no pics, no solid description--and turns out after texting them it was just an Amberola 30. But in this case you know it's a rare & valuable machine. Hope someone snags it.
