Original sockets like this are hard to find, but I did find one for sale. The listing is for two sockets for one price... I think the one on the left is the one you need. It's mounted on a base, which can be left or removed depending on your situation. It obviously needs cleaning and rewiring, but has the correct porcelain socket and solid brass cover.

I will send you the link to buy it by PM (it's not mine), but both together are $15.78 and I measured my original which is similar size without the base - approx. 2 ¼" tall. Hope this helps... the pull chain can be easily shortened.

Some of the early sewing machines used the same socket. I found one on Etsy. Just be sure it's the right sized based-- probably "candelabra" base. I found a porcelain socket to rob a part from for my electric XVIII.

Brad, the picture that I posted above from a listing, is exactly the correct size brass socket with porcelain guts, but mounted on a base which I sent a link to for $15, which is cheap. Obviously, the base can be removed, the brass socket cleaned up and it's good. As you know, these little brass sockets are hard to find no matter what you want to use them for. I think somehow, the OP thinks that electrical manufacturers of that period made "phonograph light sockets" specifically for Victor. The OP told me he was looking for an "original" and wasn't interested, so a sewing machine socket is not going to fly either... :? Apparently, only one salvaged directly from a high end Victrola will work... How about taking yours off and selling it?

You're right Curt-- I just needed a part on the porcelain socket-- I bought a nickeled light from an early sewing machine-- It was identical to the housing and socket on my XVIII, except the XVIII part is gold. I think I paid $18 something including shipping. I switched out the part on the socket-- direct fit.

One more observation-- I just noticed---> Take a look at the socket Curt had the link to- It is not necked-down as much as the original. I ran into that when I was searching. There are two sizes for different bulb bases.. I found that out after buying my "first" one-- It was larger than original... took awhile to find the smaller candelabra base, but they are out there.

Yep- That's it! - The one a few posts up mounted on the base (next to the double one) looks to be for the larger lamp.

Hopefully the OP will snag this one.
