Unknown Gramophone

Post by Toranaga »

Hello,

I just found this gramophone in the attic of our country home, during renovation, where it has been sitting for many years, under a pile of wooden boxes.

https://imgur.com/a/3xpIlJH

The text on the inner part of the lid hints to 1914-1927 era. It is written in Romanian, should translate "To Mister ... ( a family name ending in "ca") Constantine ... military. King Ferdinand ... Băile Herculane"

The soundbox is marked silver letters on black leather "Reform Schalldose".
There is no logo, no other writing visible.
Can you please help me identify this gramophone and give me some ideeas about restoring it ?
Thank you !

Hello and welcome on the forum!
At first glance, I think that it's an off-brand machine, i.e not manufactured by a large company as HMV, Columbia, Pathé or other.
So finding parts could be difficult. As a very step, I would clean and test the motor to ensure the spring is ok.
Good luck.
