FOUND: Columbia Made Long Throat Reproducer

Post by john9ten »

Hello all.

You may remember I had a marked Columbia long throat analyzing reproducer I was looking to trade for an unmarked one for my Standard Talking Machine Type X. I made a trade, but found that the needle bar on the one I got is reproduction, not original. I wrote to my trading partner about it, but before I ask him to trade back, I wanted to see if anyone would be willing to trade me again for an all original one, even if I have to put in a little cash. There is nothing wrong with this reproducer, and the needle bar and screws are the only repro item on it, but I traded away a good all original and i'd like to have the same in return. Pics below.
The reason I am looking for another trade rather than trade him back is that his machine is a Columbia front mount that needs a marked reproducer, and if I can find another without taking that away from him it would make us both happy. Also, some may say that a repro needle bar is no big thing, but it's one of those situations where my knowing it is repro would bother me!

Thanks

John Robles

Can you not just swap needle bars so he gets his marked soundbox with his repro needle bar to keep and you get your unmarked and original to keep?
