SOLD! -Edison Amberol Cylinders & Combination Outfit-$225

Post by Jerry B. »

I am selling an original shipping box with Special Edison Amberol records and a Combination Attachment Outfit. I contains nine of the ten records. The cylinder in box A is missing. A couple of the boxes have tight lids that I didn't want to force off but the records are inside. In addition to the original ten boxes and nine records there is a mandrel for a Triumph along with a NOS mandrel that still has the cardboard tube protecting the threads on feed screw portion. The price is $225. I would prefer to deliver to Union or APS if possible but I would mail at cost.

Please PM with any interest or questions. The buyer is the first to PM "SOLD!"

This has been sitting in my basement for decades. The large opening for a reproducer on the carriage would suggest use with an O reproducer.

WHY when I am away from here a little while do these things come up and are sold before I even see them..... :!:

In case the purchaser only needs the cylinders, I only need the 2/4 mandrel/gear items. not even the carriage, I don't need that.

I am also curious if inside this 2/4 min gear drum, does it say B or C or D ?

I have Home and Triumph B type 2/4 "switches", carriages, etc. if needed.

Thanks for your consideration and letting me rant

Ain't that the way it goes though???

Gosh I'd keep that all together as a set. A lot easier to find a 2/4 minute machine than it would be to find that whole conversion kit in original packing.

I agree! And knowing George, that's exactly what will happen. This could not have gone to a better conservator.

Congratulations George!

Thanks Fran, and yes - this unused set will be kept the way it is. I have the missing cylinder (Special A: The Four Jacks March) and a wooden box that originally held the Triumph carriage. I'd hate to break up a "time capsule."

I have two of these (although not for sale). The shipping boxes were stamped on the end, indicating the Model they fit.

In one photo attached, the case is upside-down because the bottom is missing. The stamping on the end indicates STANDARD. The decal on the top is largely intact. It also is a holding-box for some duplicate cylinders.

The other photo is of a complete outfit, stamped on the end HOME.
