Its the real deal and will likely be a bit expensive. I attached a PDF that contains the ad introducing the clock in 1921 from The Music Trade Review.

LDoor,

As melvind has already tol you this the real thing and I can tell you that could/should expect to pay over $1000.00 for it. But just to help you with your phono education, this is not an "RCA" clock. It is a Victor Talking Machine CO. clock. RCA was not part of Victor company until after December of 1929 and as said this clock was a 1921 product.

Go for it and good luck! It is an extremely rare Victor advertising item.

Best regards,

You wanted info/opinions... you got them... so some of us need answers. Did you buy it? Was it reasonable? If you didn't decide to buy it, where is it for sale?

I'd say well over $1000, maybe 2 or 3 times that.

I think this clock, in that condition, is worth at least melvind's high-end estimate (and most likely more) to quite a few serious collectors, and not just phonograph collectors! This piece is not at all common --- in the phonograph, record, advertising, or antique clock world! This is a pretty scarce piece in any condition, and a great example of a fantastic cross collectible!

Take that to a good clockmaker and have it serviced and then wind it up & enjoy for years to come! Glad it went to good hands--it will match your eclectic collection very well!

I love Victor batwing records, a lot, so it was good to see batwing-specific merchandise.
