Here is something I have never seen before. It is from an Edison phonograph dealer.
It was not until the 1890’s and early 20th century that aluminum was affordable to be used for every-day items. Even in 1908, the approximate date of this Edison dealer business card, it was unusual to see one made from aluminum.
The front of the business card advertises the dealers address and offerings. The reverse side shows a view of a face. Shown one way, is a face with a smile from patronizing the Edison dealer’s business. Rotated 180 degrees, and a face with a frown is revealed. This face only wishes he had patronized the Edison dealers business (The second picture shows the same card image, 180 degrees turned from each other)
