This machine has been crudely re-motored, but the "Everything under the Sun" trade mark is interesting and suggests a mail order company. Does anyone recognise it?

Looks like a product of the Frankenphone factory. It comes complete with wrong parts, a spare hole or two, and maybe a sound box, "but don't expect one." What a deal! Who could pass on that?

With all it's faults I am not suggesting that anyone should buy it. I simply want to know whether anyone recognises the trade mark.Henry wrote:Looks like a product of the Frankenphone factory. 'Chas. T. Robey Ltd' of Coventry, made 'Robeyphone' gramophones , " Everything under the sun " was usually on the side of their machines , not the front , poor pic below with a gram robeyphone on front "an deveryting under the sun " on the side just make it out
Robeyphone Grand records and needles were also produced.

Understood. I was amused by the wording of the description, that's all.epigramophone wrote:With all it's faults I am not suggesting that anyone should buy it. Re: "Everything under the Sun"
The listing has links to some videos of the machine, and it sounds great. Wonder what soundbox he used that will or won't be included with purchase?
I notice in the videos next to this machine is another with a horn distressed in exactly the same way this one is. So it does seem like the product of a Frankenphone factory.

What I do not understand is why the seller would create 8 empty auction listings (with a picture of a piece of travetine-ish marble) with the description "Gramophone. Condition is Used. Details to follow soon"epigramophone wrote:This machine has been crudely re-motored, but the "Everything under the Sun" trade mark is interesting and suggests a mail order company. Probably to take advantage of one of eBay's "Maximum £1 Selling Fee" offers, which have to be activated within a limited timescale.Sidewinder wrote:What I do not understand is why the seller would create 8 empty auction listings (with a picture of a piece of travetine-ish marble) with the description "Gramophone. Once the items are listed within the time limit, pictures can be added later.
