WANTED: Automatic Brake for HMV 102 model A

Post by Benz »

Hello there! This is my first topic here; I've been looking for this exact part for my HMV 102 gramophone, and never found this exact type of auto brake on eBay, if you happen to have one, please pm me.
Thank you!

Does your 102A still have the large bracket that attaches to the top of the motor and raises the brake mechanism and the "auto on/off" lever up the level of the motor board?

No, the only thing left on the motor are the mounting screws for the bracket; and, after further inspection, it seems to have neither the auto brake nichel plate and the little hook attached to the tone arm.

Hmm....Are you sure that the brake pictured is the one you need? I ask because I'm wondering if there ever WAS an autobrake on/off lever. Are there holes where it was mounted, if not, then the original brake was a No.5, which didn't have that lever, and was often removed because it was so unreliable.
