Victor Royal

Post by Rodney »

An update on the Victor Royal with the belt drive to the governor I posted back in May. My thanks to all who responded and particularly to one or two who suggested that the belt was a later modification. After many tries with different belts and even a larger pulley on the governor shaft to increase contact area I was unable to get belts to work satisfactorily. I had no choice but to agree that it started its life with standard gears. The owner was able to source correct parts from the US including a missing ID plate. I never have that sort of luck with my difficult to find parts, but very good luck to him. It is now playing away happily in far away Western Australia where we are Corona free and working to stay that way. My best wishes to all in the US

Thanks for the update Rodney. Too many times we never hear how things worked out for posters. Helps us all to learn when we hear "the rest of the story".

Thank you for your well wishes! We need them :)
Same to you!
