Found an early Columbia Granfonola Favorite with the Victor-style doors several weeks ago. It has a three spring motor and conventional Columbia brake and Speed controls, with the addition of a semi-automatic brake.
The tonearm is not the type that I am used to seeing on a Columbia. It runs well and sounds good, but I have not been able to remove the reproducer, despite the use of penetrating oil. I actually broke the solder that must have been holding the elbow on!
All and all, it is a very nice machine.

Re: Recent Acquisition - Columbia Favorite
I love these. I have one in oak, but the brake is an interesting upgrade. Congratulations on an interesting acquisition!

Re: Recent Acquisition - Columbia Favorite
I wasn’t able to remove the reproducer off my favorite (I have an early one as well). I’d just leave it on the tone arm..... it’s not worth breaking the pot metal.
