I was parting out a VE 8-30 over the weekend and thought I was going to be able to use the backs on my VE 8-30S. But they are different.
Does anyone have a VE 8-30S with the back panels that could share a photograph?? I am thinking I will still have to make these work but wonder what they were supposed to look like.

I would imagine the VE 8-30S has the same back panels as the VE 8-60. You can have these if you want for $65 plus shipping.

I'd still like to see an actual pair from an 8-30S. They had to at least remove the ID tags for the jacks.

You have me very curious. What does the "S" suffix mean? How does it differ from a VE 8-30?

Re: Victor VE 8-30S picture of back needed
Hi Jerry, The VE 8-30S was the result of a lot of "hard to sell" VE 8-60s that Victor had built. The amplifier was removed, along with the volume control and amplifier on/off switch. The holes were plugged with wood, the VE 8-30S ID tag was created and moved to almost completely cover the holes. The horn valve and driver remained. This allowed purchasers to connect their radio to the driver and play it thru the Orthophonic horn. The compartment light also remained. But they went thru the trouble of plugging the red pilot light on the bottom with wood. And changing part of the decal in the lid to say "Victrola" instead of "Electrola". It is certainly an interesting machine. All part of the Credenza 8-30 family. Although I don't know what the did with the back panels. They would have to have at least changed the labels for the rear jacks. And there would be one less Jack.JerryVan wrote:You have me very curious. What does the "S" suffix mean? Wow. Thanks. Had no idea such a thing existed. I have an 8-60 to restore "one day". The cabinet needs a total refinish. Hardware is all there & functional. Electronics, all there, but?????Skihawx wrote:Hi Jerry, The VE 8-30S was the result of a lot of "hard to sell" VE 8-60s that Victor had built.
