Just wondering how are you guys in the Oregon area doing?
I have some friends in the Oregon area and am wondering how are you doing in the wake of these devastating wild fires? I have an old car collector friend in Phoenix, OR, and then there's Jerry of course, and all the others?

I've been safe here in Albany, OR. After a week of heavy smoke we saw clouds and a bit of the sun on Monday. Good friend and fellow collector, Mike S., evacuated from his home in Phoenix, OR. His house survived but many homes in his area were destroyed and the downtown area was all but destroyed. The last I checked many of the state highways that cross our state were closed and many communities along those routes suffered much damage.

Jerry
I was thinking about you yesterday, and intended to ask about you today. Glad to hear it's so far, so good for you and your family. I'll keep you all in my prayers--this is a devastating situation out there.

Southern Oregon Coast had awful smoke, making the afternoons look like a Mars Landscape. Several arsonists observed by witnesses or photographs. One fire, just north of us, which threatened hundreds of acres of forest, was outed quickly.
The picture below was taken about 3:30 in the afternoon. Cheers, Russie

We are just horrible with smoke here in East Springfield yet- Holiday Farm fire a few miles up 126 East is still burning and only about 6% contained on Day 8 of this. Pollution index is till off the scale at over 300 and "hazardous".

I talked with Stan and he's doing fine. In fact his Polka Band had four gigs this week and I think they were all a go. It's all done very safely with social distancing, etc. Of course afterwards Stan is mobbed by Polka babes.

I heard from my car collector friend John Keiser in Phoenix, OR. He had to abandon his home and drive to the coast. He said that although houses and blocks all around him burned to the ground, his block was spared! He owns two precious 1931 Dodge cars that he had to leave in his garage, one that he has owned since he was in high school.
