Need help with Columbia machine ID

Post by bruv »

I have the Columbia disc machine book, but this machine doesn't match up with the dimensions and the nickel disc ring. The height is apx. 5 ¾. The width or length is 12 ¼. Do any of you know which model this is? Thank you in advance for any help you may give.

Hi, The machine you have is a Columbia BN. It is neat that it has the screw volume control (DOLCHER ??) on the tone arm. also unusual with the black horn elbow and the turntable dust ring. They are not seen that often. Someone on the forum will know the correct spelling of the volume control. Nice machine

Agreed on the BN. A nice variant of an otherwise not overly rare machine. The volume control is nice! Mine's pretty loud and doesn't have one.

Yes, a BN. I believe that's a very early example with the correct red felt on the turntable. (Please don't change the felt!)

Thank you all for the responses. It also has the nickle horn with it. I am fixing it for a guy and needed the model before I order the part from George Vollema.
