Hello all, I found a VV-XVI in Facebook yesterday and JUMPED on it. It is in relatively good condition with little wear to the wood finish and the components have virtually no rust. I’m in Houston and typically phonographs around here are stored in a garage or storage for a few years and the climate here absolutely destroys these machines so finding one so pristine in the wild (for a fair price) is rare. The reproducer needs to be rebuilt, I’m going to take a stab at it. Luckily the owner had the motor restored a couple years back so she runs smooth as a baby’s bottom. This thing is HEAVY, so I removed the motor plate and the tone arm to get it out of there safely but even then it was heavy. I’m going to try and source the correct albums for the machine so if anyone has any leads on those I’d appreciate it!
Note:the key it came with is incorrect but it works on the lock. I may try and find a correct gold tone key but I haven’t been able to find one at a reasonable price.

Nice find! It has the DM designation that has been discussed here before. The slightly earlier one I have in the basement to be cleaned up, #44697, is just marked D. I also have a B and an earlier VTLA (that was my similar find at a great price). Someone moved it down there from NYC or was that a later acquisition? Good luck with the albums for it. You were lucky to find it—congratulations!
