My dad got his first Edison machine in the 1950s, I think. He has a beautiful Edison collection. Now that the login has been approved, I'm going to try to get him to check out the board even though he doesn't like computers.
He owns thousands of cylinders, and if you tell him what you are looking for, he might have it and be willing to sell.
I've had fun browsing the boards while waiting for approval. I just learned that the "suitcase" Edisons I've heard him talk about forever were some of the earliest machines.
I also see that this might be the opportunity to replace one of Dad's 78 records I broke when I was about 8 years old, so that might allow me to feel better after all these years.
It's cool to see so many people who enjoy these machines!

If you have many cylinder records to sell, you may want to post "for sale" ads in our "Music Trader" section of our forum. this will provide you with the best exposure. You will want to read the posting guidelines before placing your ads.shopdoc wrote:My dad got his first Edison machine in the 1950s, I think. He has a beautiful Edison collection. Welcome to the Forum!
It may be helpful to update your profile so we know what town you live in. It would make selling cylinders a little easier, but also it would give you a chance to meet some of the wonderful members of this forum.

Will do. I'm also trying to get him to let me post a pic of his favorite machine as an avatar!dzavracky wrote:Welcome to the Forum!

Re: Hello from shopdoc's daughter
Thank you all for the gracious welcomes. Dad actually listened to a couple of Edisonfan's links last night, so I may be able to get him posting here
