A call out to members regarding a needle packet. Some may recall awhile back I posted two Black Swan needle packets. To date, I have not been able to locate any others. Now, I ask if anyone has a Paramount needle packet in their collection. I have tried every avenue and can not locate another.
Interestingly, Paramount bought Black Swan in 1923.
I would appreciate hearing from another member regarding either type.
Does anyone have one?

Yes, I have one Paramount needle packet. I have seen several other varieties in other collector’s hands (probably about six+/- different designs and/or volume types). They occasionally show up at shows and swap meets. I’m still in need of a Black Swan packet...

Hi Bob, Thanks for the reply. Are you able to show your packet or is it the same as I posted..??Pathé Logical wrote: Mon Feb 01, 2021 4:01 pm Yes, I have one Paramount needle packet. Sorry, I wasn’t home when I made my post above. Here’s a pic of my Paramount needle packet. I have seen another similar to mine but with green print on tan paper, but I don’t know wether it was the same design as mine. I have seen ones like yours in three different volumes. Also, I know of a small Paramount paper “folder/container” which held several different needle packets inside of it.
No, like other obscure brands of needle packets (Standard Talking Machine; Hit of the Week; V-Disc; etc.), the Paramount are not overly common —- but they do show up occasionally.

Bob, Very nice packet. I'm going to assume yours is earlier as there is no mention of "electrical recordings". Using the full Paramount logo may also represent being early. Hopefully, others can post some other variations. I notice yours is also "extra loud" there is no better way to listen to early blues...Pathé Logical wrote: Mon Feb 01, 2021 6:18 pm Sorry, I wasn’t home when I made my post above. The photo below is from https://www.tmj4.com/lifestyle/black-hi ... pfJ6ZnIgxI
Shown are other examples of Paramount needle packets, and a Paramount record duster/brush in a box. I’m not convinced the red/orange packet is from the NYRL-related company (the logo and overall appearance just look wrong to me). I’m not sure about the duster/brush’s relationship to the company either (although I do have an example of the empty box in my collection just in case
). An example of the “folder/container” I eluded to in my earlier post is shown at the lower right of the photo.

Bob, thank you so much for posting these examples. I too think the red/orange packet is from the later Paramount record label from the post war era Paramount Films.Pathé Logical wrote: Wed Feb 10, 2021 11:24 am The photo below is from https://www.tmj4.com/lifestyle/black-hi ... pfJ6ZnIgxI
