Rare, Mostly Complete VE 10-51 in Arkansas

Post by Garret »

Rough, but I know a guy who could make that cabinet shine like a new penny. When will you see another?

Wow! Not only is the 10-51 rare, but the coin-op version is even rarer! Unfortunately, the amplifier and speaker appear to have been replaced with a later set.
I would love to have that one to restore!

Originally, this unit would've had the horn from the 10-50 coupled to a horn driver. The horn could be found though. I can't tell if that's a later amplifier or not.

What amplifier is with it? Judging by the globe tubes I'd guess it's on the older side.

Sold for $870 + 10% buyers premium. Highest hammer price out of the 819 lots in that auction.

The early production 10-51s used the AP997 amplifier. This is a late production 10-51 it does have the correct amplifier. The 997 amp tube lineup was UX199, 2 UX216B and, UX210 the late amp used 2 UX281, UX226, and UX250.
