Phenix was another interesting French make. The company initially produced machines that played cylinders slightly smaller than the Pathé Inter size. This meant that the cylinders could not be played on any other phonograph. However with a sleeve adaptor a Phenix owner could play the Pathé inter size in their Phenix.

Later Phenix machines were manufactured to standard cylinder size.

(Sorry about the condition of the fresh second machine pictured. Needs some restoration, when I find the time . )
