My newest find!!

Post by dzavracky »

I had the chance to buy this over two months ago from a lady in Chicago... and today was the day I finally got it!!

Are the pegs correct? They don’t look like the ones I’ve seen in other pictures.

Cheers,

David

While the "pegs" in my cabinet are not similar (I have metal clips that hold at the bottom of the box) I don't know if those like yours were ever an option. Honestly even if they are wrong you have a GREAT looking cabinet. Enjoy the find!

Thank you!! I am over the moon to have this.

It came with all the records, and the lady was nice enough to give me a model H with it because I helped her sell some various phonographs that belonged to her father. I have a lot of listening to do!

Is there anything to do about the shelf being warped? (The top one)

Congratulations on your Herzog 710.

The pegs may not be original, but they do the job - and save you the trouble and expense of acquiring new ones).

Here are a couple of pictures of original pegs in an early-production 710. (Note the difference in shelf shape and the method of bracing).

Congratulations again - -

George,

Do you think if would be worth getting that blue paper and wrapping the pegs? I could make tops for them too.

David,

There's no blue paper. The original pegs are black with white tops.

As for making tops, that's entirely up to you. When the records re in place, they can't be seen very well anyway.

Oh I thought the paper looked blue  Maybe I will make tops for it over the summer.

Are the tops made out of cardboard or paper?
