Don't know much about these but have always wanted one. Alas CT is a bit too far for me to travel for one that may/may not work...

I have wanted one since I first saw one in Charlie Martin’s shop about 25 or 30 years ago. I do have the Panatrope changer that I got from my wife’s godmother. Now if I can only get around to fixing it one of these days…

The albums were the first thing I noticed! Nice to know that my distance isn't keeping me from missing out on anything. I suppose I should do a google image search to see what this is supposed to look like.

Ah, I see, there's supposed to be an orthophonic horn over there, not a radio and speaker. What a strange thing to do to a machine? I wondered what that outline of a scar was in the rear photo... folded horn scar. Too bad. I wonder if the changer still works...

As Peter noted, this one has been butchered. The 10-50 was all acoustic -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/10-50.htm It did not have a radio.

The electrically amplified version was the 10-51, but it also was fitted with a horn and did not have a radio -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/10-51.htm

From the looks of it, the modification to the one for sale on Facebook was probably done in the mid to late 1930s.

So was this someone's attempt to make it like the Victor 9-55 I wonder?

I think it was just more of an attempt to continue using a nice piece of furniture. Maybe the changer mechanism broke and this was a way to make something useful out of it?
