Hi all,
I just picked up an Edison Style 4 Minute Recorder. This was installed on an Amberola 30 using an adapter ring. I have taken photo of it next to my other 4 minute recorder which has all of the Edison marking. This one only has Recorder and a SN on it. It is cast from pot metal. The weight and ski jump look correct for an Edison. I did have a look around the internet and have seen other pot metal top housing but they had the Edison markings and much higher serial numbers. The cutter is present as I had a look with my digital microscope. It measures the same as the other reproducer in the pictures.
Thanks for any information.
Todd

Re: Odd Edison 4 Minute Recorder
Could that have been typical of recorders used on the ICS Amberolas?

It may be a recorder for an Ediphone - - especially if the tube is shorter than usual.
